Creativity with Nature

When we're not on the road gathering inspiration for our books and articles, we find refuge in the workshop—a place where creativity flourishes and dreams take shape. Here, we fill the air with the soft tones of jazz and the warmth from flickering candles, creating an atmosphere that both calms and inspires.

The workshop is not just a place for creation; it is the heart of our home and a reflection of our values. Here, tradition and innovation, sustainability and artistic freedom meet in harmony, permeating every project we undertake.

A Life in Balance
The workshop is more than just a physical space for us—it is a lifestyle. Here, we express our creative dreams while living in harmony with the rhythm of nature and cherishing traditional craftsmanship. Whether it's carving, crocheting, writing, or photographing, our work is always rooted in a desire to create something meaningful and lasting. When we showcase our creations at markets or share them with others, we hope they not only convey beauty but also inspire an appreciation for the genuine, sustainable, and handmade. The workshop is a part of us, and we are happy to share it with the world.

From Sketch to Final Form

Eddie loves working with wood. He carves birds, both large and small, with great care and precision. Each bird is unique, inspired by the nature we experience during our travels and walks.

The finished birds are often displayed at local Christmas markets or shown at retreats where we also hold workshops and share our passion for craftsmanship. For Eddie, carving is about creating something beautiful from the simple—a piece of wood shaped into a detailed form of an owl, a sparrow, or perhaps a stylized swan.

Joy of Creation in Light and Music
What makes the workshop such a special place is the atmosphere. Candles create warmth and calm, while the jazz flowing from the speakers sets a rhythm for our work. Here, a magical combination of concentration and joy occurs, where time seems to stand still as we let our hands shape and create.

Photography in the Dawn Light
Eddie is a master of the morning. While most are still resting, he wakes early to capture the first light of the day with his camera. The misty landscapes and mystical atmosphere are his favorite subjects. His photos not only become works of art in themselves, but also serve as an inspiration for everything else we create in the workshop.

Preserving Tradition Through Craft and Writing

Ylva has been writing journals and travel diaries for many years. The pages are filled with everything from reflections and ideas to memories from our travels. It's not just a way to document our experiences, but also a tool to keep creativity alive. Often, these notes find their way into our books, articles, or blogs, helping to give them a personal and authentic expression.
In 2018, Ylva wrote books that explore the fascinating story of her grandparents, who emigrated to the United States. Through her writing, she vividly depicts the challenges and experiences of moving to America in the 19th century—embarking on a perilous journey across the Atlantic by ship, settling in a foreign land, working tirelessly, and striving to build a new life.
In addition to these personal and historical reflections, Ylva collaborated with a close friend to create other literary works. Although none of the books have been published, her friend, skilled in bookbinding, handcrafted beautiful editions, giving these works a tangible and intimate form, created entirely at home.
Ylva’s creative journey extends far beyond writing. A graduate of Konstfack, Stockholm’s prestigious art school, she worked as an art teacher while dedicating herself to various artistic pursuits. Her portfolio includes numerous paintings, chronicles, and other creative projects, showcasing her passion for storytelling and visual expression.
Through her writing, art, and collaborative spirit, Ylva captures the essence of heritage, creativity, and the timeless pursuit of understanding our roots and experiences.

Honoring Craftsmanship and Creativity

A deep appreciation for sustainability and authentic craftsmanship has always been at the heart of the workshop. By crocheting potholders with 100% natural cotton yarn, a timeless tradition is kept alive, echoing the way things were made in the past. In the workshop, she crochets potholders using 100% natural cotton yarn, just as it was done in earlier times.

These potholders are not just a practical detail for the kitchen, but also a tribute to tradition and a pursuit of reducing our environmental impact.

Each potholder is carefully designed, both to be functional and to become a beautiful addition to everyday life.
